Community Involvement.
The restored garden is beautiful, but equally as beautiful was the outpouring
of community
help and volunteers it inspired.
Some were old friends, like the contractor who used three levels of scaffolding to re-erect the three
towering purple martin birdhouses, or new friends like the Eagle Scout candidate and members of his Boy Scout
troop who rebuilt the arbor and pergola the first time in the 1980s. High school masonry students, nurseries, and the
garden club ladies all shared their time, talents and garden treasures.
