Although very expensive and challenging to complete, the 2011 restoration of the arbor and pergola inspired great admiration for Edward's construction skills. The robin's egg blue was selected from a variety of paint colors used periodically by the Spencers. During construction, the grape and wisteria vines were carefully protected and re-trained on the historically accurate arbor.
