Prior to renovation, LCPS also successfully worked with the Department of Historic Resources to obtain a Virginia state historical marker to honor Longs Chapel and Zenda.
The sign was dedicated during a ceremony in September 2007, attended by local and state dignitaries, county supervisors, and about 70 Rockingham County and Harrisonburg area residents.
