DHR’s leadership and operation teams are critical to the agency’s success in fulfilling its mission of promoting and preserving Virginia’s historic and cultural resources. DHR’s leadership provides strategic direction and oversees the agency’s programs and services while its operation teams ensure the effective and efficient delivery of those programs and services.
Senior Leadership
Senior Leadership provides strategic direction and oversight for the agency’s programs and services. This includes setting priorities, developing policies, and establishing partnerships with other state and federal agencies, as well as with local communities and stakeholders. The senior leadership’s expertise and experience are critical to the effective and efficient delivery of DHR’s programs and services, and to the agency’s success in promoting and preserving Virginia’s historic and cultural resources.
Director’s Office
The Director’s Office oversees the development of policies and programs to promote and preserve Virginia’s historic and cultural resources, and works closely with other state and federal agencies to ensure a coordinated and effective approach to historic preservation. The Director’s Office also provides guidance and support to DHR’s staff and partners, helping to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of the agency’s programs and services.
Administration Division
The Administration Division at DHR is responsible for the agency’s internal operations and administrative functions. The division oversees budgeting and financial management, human resources, procurement, and information technology, among other areas. Its role is critical to ensuring that DHR’s programs and services are delivered efficiently and effectively and that the agency’s resources are used responsibly and transparently.
