Pamplin Pipe Colors.

The local red clay mostly produced pipes of a dark red, although a range of colors could result from different exposures to heat within the kiln. The red pipe here is in a style known as the "Hamburg" as indicated by its decorative pattern of diamond shapes (not its color).
