Buttons —
with iron fastener loops. Rows of similar buttons are shown on cuffs, pockets,
and other areas on clothing of both the pikeman and musketeer in the Jacob

buttons of this exact type were recovered from Jordan’s Journey, a 17th-century
site near Hopewell, Virginia.
